Gizelle Gajelonia, in her poems "All Business" and "Wahiawa No Mo' Starbucks" both explore the idea of tourism in Hawaii. "All Business" is expressing to the reader the distaste that a local in Hawaii has for commercial stores, such as Macy's, Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. "Remember when Macy's used to be Liberty House?"- somewhat implies to the reader that Hawaii used to be a sacred place that was home to many. Now, though, it is a land taken up by big corporations in hopes of attracting as much money as possible. The second poem, "Wahiawa No Mo' Starbucks" makes the point of impressing upon the reader the fact that Starbucks is cheapening the land in Hawaii and is used as a way of prostituting the nation of Hawaii out in efforts to cater the to rich Anglo-American visitors that vacation there.
